There's a pretty large number that's being thrown around the internet marketing world and it refers to the percentage of people that will never make a single cent with affiliate marketing. That figure is arbitrarily set at 95% and it's used in all areas of business, because it signifies that large majority of people that seem to lack that certain something for making money on their own, without a boss or an organization behind them.

If you are searching for the reasons behind so much failure and lack of success, you find that the truth is very, very simple. People fail because they have a losing mindset. This may sometimes manifest as a lack of persistence, other times as a creative block or a long string of bad decisions and poor choices. Whatever the manifestation may be, the individual's mindset is at the root of the problem. With that being said, a door opens up for us to correct the issue and move forward towards even greater success and business achievement.

One major problem that I see when it comes to people's attitudes and mindset is their belief that business is something bad, ruthless or immoral. Although they may feel compelled to start a business, or in our case start an online business, they still have a belief that business is bad and the only way to make money is to lie, cheat and/or steal. This couldn't be farther from the truth.

Business is about service, about giving value and receiving compensation for provided service, value and effort. Affiliate marketing is no different. By realizing that you don't have to be a "bad person" in order to make money, you can be free from that mind virus and start providing genuine value and making money in the process.

You don't have to lie in your sales copy, use deceptive headlines in your email follow-ups or employ scarcity and other silly, unnecessary methods in order to trick the potential costumer into giving you money. On the contrary, the most effective way of making money online is by being yourself, using your own voice and providing your talents, gifts and skills to the world. Only by doing this can you really achieve anything stable, worthwhile and long term.

You can make money with internet marketing on your own terms, doing what you want to do, but you need to have the proper mindset to be able to do it. In order for you to overcome other people's opinions, "expert advice" and common wisdom, not to mention temporary failures, obstacles and mistakes, you will need to develop a mindset of success, persistence and belief in yourself and what you stand for. Only then can you really make money on your own terms.
