The Right Ball Position Will Make A Big Difference

As with everything in golf this will take practice to figure it all out.
If you haven't been playing the ball correctly in the stance it will take time to get it right.
It might feel quite awkward at first but with time it will become natural.
If you stick with it though, it will improve your golf and the ball will be flying straighter and further than before.
When I was just introduced to golf the ball position was not something I knew too much about.
As I got into the game though I realised how important it was.
OK, so here is what you should be doing.
Driver - Most golfers just getting into the game generally play the ball in the centre of stance.
The ball will directly in line with the nose.
This is what I did as a beginner.
This is the wrong set-up though, what you should do is to have the ball be in line with the left shoulder.
The hips will be slightly tilted back which is natural.
Addressing the ball like this will encourage a better swing plane and generate more power.
With the ball positioned here you will be able to get it in the air, more than what you ever could.
Fairway Woods/Hybrids - The ball position here will be slightly in, the inside of your left shoulder is a good line.
3-6 Irons - Position the ball directly in line with the left ear.
7-Wedges - A good position for the ball here is to be level with the left cheek.
Putter - There are two common positions for the ball to be in the putting stance.
Some people play it dead centre which would in line with your nose and others play it a little forward to encourage top spin.
The ball should never be played back in stance with a putt.
Now that you know the correct ball position the next thing to get right is your distance from the ball.
Take your normal address bend the knees slightly and bend the hips towards the ball.
Next lay your club down behind the ball.
The arms should swing loosely from your body.
Grip the club with the left hand, the butt of the club should be pointing at the inner thigh of the left leg or towards your belt buckle if you are wearing a belt.
Finally take your right hand and assume your proper grip.
This is the position you will assume with every club.
The longer clubs will obviously need more distance and the angles will change.
However the angle of your body will stay the same.
If you put these techniques into use you get better results.
It will increase your results.
You will see the ball flying a whole lot better due to a more solid contact.
I guarantee these simple things work.
