- 1). Remove the plastic push rivets from the inner fairing panels, located behind the middle fairing panels and behind the front wheel. Depress the center portion of the rivet with a screwdriver and pull the rivet out of the fairing panel.
- 2). Unscrew the mounting bolts from the middle fairing panels, using a 4 mm Allen wrench. Pull the fairing panels toward the rear of the motorcycle slightly, until the tabs on the front of the panel separate from the bottom of the upper fairing.
- 3). Reach behind the middle fairing panels and unplug the front turn signals from the motorcycle's wiring harness.
- 4). Reinstall the middle fairing panels after installing the frame sliders, using the reverse method of removal.
- 1). Unscrew the left motor mount bolt, positioned at the bottom of the frame, using an 8 mm Allen wrench.
- 2). Select the shorter replacement motor mount bolt and insert it into the frame slider bracket. Coat the bolt's threads with a drop of medium-strength thread-lock adhesive. Screw the bolt loosely into place, using an 8 mm Allen wrench.
- 3). Hold the left middle fairing panel against the motorcycle. Rotate the frame slider bracket against the motor mount bolt until it extends completely away from the fairing panel. Set the fairing panel aside and tighten the bolt to 47 foot-pounds, using a torque wrench.
- 4). Install the longer frame slider puck onto the left frame slider bracket, using one of the two 45 mm mounting bolts included with the kit. Coat the bolt's threads with a drop of medium-strength thread-lock adhesive. Screw the bolt into place, using a 6 mm Allen wrench. Tighten the bolt to 30 foot-pounds, using a torque wrench.
- 5). Follow the method shown above to install the right frame slider bracket and its puck, using the shorter frame slider puck and the longer motor mount bolt.
