- 1). Consider your options for romantic destinations. Do you want to drive or fly? Do you want to create the mood in an urban setting like Paris, or a rugged place like Big Sur?
- 2). Research bed-and-breakfasts, small inns and private cabins or condos in your destination area, once you nail down a place.
- 3). Ask about special room features: large tubs, fireplaces, king-sized beds and patios with sweeping views.
- 4). Research idyllic beach walks, gentle mountain trails or picnic areas in the area you will be visiting.
- 5). Investigate cozy restaurants in and around your destination, and make a reservation for two.
- 6). Allow for plenty of relaxation time on your trip. If you are traveling for a weekend, but have a long drive, skip out early on Friday.
- 7). Arrange for special treats to greet you when you arrive. Champagne, chocolates and flowers are quintessential romantic treats.
- 8). Bring scented candles, bubble baths and incense to create an extravagant setting within your hotel room.
