- 1). Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spread raw, shelled peanuts in a single layer in a shallow baking pan.
- 2). Roast the peanuts for 15 to 20 minutes. Stir the peanuts after about 10 minutes so the nuts will cook evenly.
- 3). Remove the peanuts from the oven. Allow the peanuts to cool before making your peanut butter. The pan should be removed from the oven when the peanuts are not quite done, as the hot peanuts will finish cooking while they cool.
- 1). Place raw, shelled peanuts in a glass casserole dish. Sprinkle several pea-sized bits of butter or margarine over the peanuts. The amount of butter or margarine depends how buttery you like your peanuts.
- 2). Cook the peanuts on high for two minutes. Stir the peanuts.
- 3). Microwave the peanuts for an additional two minutes, then stir again. Cook the nuts for a total of 10 to 12 minutes, stirring every two minutes.
- 4). Remove the peanuts from the microwave. Allow the peanuts to cool before making peanut butter.
