    • The HTC Touch Pro measures 4.0 inches tall, 2.0 inches wide and 0.7 inches thick. It weighs 5.8 ounces including its standard 1340-mAh lithium-ion battery. HTC outfits the Touch Pro with 288 MB of RAM and 512 MB of built-in ROM storage space. An integrated microSD slot provides additional storage. Other identifying features of the HTC Touch Pro include a full QWERTY keyboard, TouchFLO three-dimensional finger swipe navigation, automatic rotation via an integrated accelerometer, touch-sensitive navigation and handwriting recognition. The Touch Pro runs on the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system.

    Display and Camera

    • The HTC Touch Pro features a 2.8-inch TFT LCD touch-sensitive screen with a resolution of 480-by-640 pixels. The screen displays up to 65,000 colors. HTC also outfits the Touch Pro with a pair of built-in cameras. The backside of the device features a 3.15-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash. This rear-facing camera takes photos at resolutions of up to 2048 by 1536 pixels in additional to video. A second camera of the screen side of the phone is of lower resolution and equipped primarily for lower-quality VGA voice calling.

    Connectivity and Cellular Features

    • The HTC Touch Pro functions on 3G HSDPA networks at frequencies of 850, 900, 1900 and 2100 MHz. It also works on 2G GSM networks at 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. Additional connectivity options include Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and an integrated IEEE 802.11b/g wireless card. When it comes to messaging, the Touch Pro supports threaded view SMS as well as MMS, email and instant messaging. The HTC Touch Pro supports a variety of ring tone formats including WMA, MP3, MIDI, WAV, AAC, AAC Plus and AMR-NB.

    Additional Features

    • The Touch Pro has both a loudspeaker and a 3.5-mm stereo headphone output. It has "practically unlimited" phone book and call records, according to HTC. Additional features include GPS functionality, Java MIDP 2.0 support, a stereo FM tuner, TV output, voice memo recorder and an MP3 player. For transferring files and updating firmware, the HTC Touch Pro connects to a computer via an 11-pin miniature USB 2.0 cable.

    End of Manufacture

    • Although the Touch Pro was powerful and feature-rich for its time, technology moves fast in the cellular industry. The HTC Touch Pro was succeeded in May of 2009 by the HTC Touch Pro2. The Touch Pro has since been discontinued.
