Ciara’s Birthday Party
Bo, Hope, Ciara, and Caroline are celebrating Ciara’s birthday party at the park. Bo and Hope’s beautiful little girl opens a pink princess dress. Nathan soon arrives with a present for Ciara and they head to the bouncy house. Bo suggests to Hope that they head over to the bouncy house later for some action of their own. Nearby, a stranger watches Bo and Hope and has a picture of Ciara.
Abe and Theo arrive for the party and are greeted by Caroline. Hope emerges with cupcakes and offers one to Theo. Abe thanks Hope for her generous check she wrote to the autism charity. Hope says it was supposed to be anonymous. Bo picks Theo up and Caroline remarks how it’s too bad Lexie couldn’t be there. Abe says she’s on duty, but tells Theo they’ll have to bring her a cupcake. Hope and Caroline walk off with Theo to go see Ciara.
Afterwards, Bo tells Abe how Ciara refers to Theo as her best boyfriend. Abe asks how things are going with Hope. Bo claims he and Hope are fine. Abe brings up the previous vision Bo had of Hope in bed with another man. Bo assures him that it was a false alarm. He confesses that he’s still having visions, and the latest one is about Zack. He recounts how Zack warned him about Ciara losing her teddy bear, so they packed Tommy Bear away in a closet. He doesn’t want to take any chances if his daughter could be in danger. Hope emerges and sits on Bo’s lap as a mysterious stranger lurks behind the trees and watches the party.
Bo and Hope clean up after Ciara’s party. Hope asks Ellen to watch the girls for a second. Tracy runs off and Ellen goes after her. The mysterious stranger approaches Ciara and asks her if it’s her birthday today, claiming it’s his birthday too. “I’m not supposed to talk to strangers,” responds Ciara. The man says they are birthday buddies and offers her a surprise. Ciara takes the red lollipop from the man. He leaves, and Ellen and Tracy return. Bo and Hope come back and Hope questions where Ciara got the lollipop. “My friend gave it to me,” replies Ciara.
Horton Cabin
Philip expresses to Stephanie how sorry he is and professes that he’ll always love her. Steph professes to love him as well. “Damn, I’m good,” smiles Melanie as she looks inside the cabin. Melanie is startled by Brady, who wonders what she’s up to now. Back inside, Philip wonders how Steph can say it’s over if she loves him.
Outside, Melanie remarks how hot it is outside. Brady reiterates his question, and Melanie asks what he’s doing there. He states that he forgot his watch and came to pick it up. Melanie jokes how she’s working on her sunburn. Brady looks inside and deduces that Melanie is trying to get Philip and Steph back together.
Meanwhile, Philip insists to Stephanie that they can start over if she loves him. She disagrees and says there are so many reasons why they can’t. He interrupts her with a kiss. Brady and Melanie witness the hot kiss from outside. Melanie notes that she’s two for two and tells Brady to just call her Cupid. Brady reveals that he and Arianna are a big flop, and she turned him down. Melanie encourages him not to give up, but Brady says he already has.
Stephanie breaks away from her kiss with Philip and begins to explain, but Philip rants how he doesn’t want to hear it, insisting that it really hurts. She sticks to her decision and has to go. “I cannot let you,” he insists as he grabs her arm.
Meanwhile, Brady reminds Melanie that she used to have a thing for Philip. Melanie affirms that it’s in the past and she’s over him. She admits that she feels a little guilty for all the bad stuff she did to Philip and Stephanie and just wants to see them happy.
Stephanie tells Philip to let go of her. He asks her to give him another chance, but she says it doesn’t matter how many times they pick up the pieces, it won’t work. She heads out and confronts Melanie. “You. I can’t believe you did this,” she says. Melanie apologizes, but Steph assures her that she’s not mad, she just has to go. Brady brings a frustrated Philip back inside the cabin and insists that Steph needs her space. Steph asks Melanie when the next ferry leaves, but Melanie encourages her to stick around, knowing that she and Philip love each other. Steph says love isn’t enough.
Steph recalls to Melanie how she and Kayla had this tradition growing up, in that they would go to the movies every Sunday and she’d pick a romantic comedy every time. She understands that even if you’re madly in love with someone, if you don’t share the same values or believe in the same things, it won’t work.
Back inside the cabin, Brady remarks how Philip keeps doing the same things over and over again and expects different results. Philip insists that he can’t lose Stephanie.
Outside, Melanie feels like an idiot and laments not letting it go. Steph says it’s okay and knows that Melanie’s heart was in the right place. Brady proceeds to leave and catch the ferry. Melanie heads inside and surmises that Philip must hate for her what she did, encouraging him to go ahead and yell and cuss her out. Philip assures her that he doesn’t hate her and knows she meant well. He believes that this time it’s finally over. Melanie encourages Philip to write Stephanie a letter or email and show her his softer side. Philip suggests that maybe he is too controlling and he just needs to learn how to step back and chill. Melanie suggests that she should learn to chill as well. Philip offers to call the captain so they can take the speedboat back.
