Torque Specs for a BBF 460

    Cylinder Head Torque Specs

    • The bolt connecting the cylinder head to the 460 engine block has 140 foot-pounds of torque. In order, the cylinder head bolts take three steps to get 75, 105 and 140 foot-pounds of torque. The main bearing cap bolts have 105 foot-pounds of torque and the intake manifold bolts have 30 foot-pounds of torque.

    Crankshaft Torque Specs

    • The bolt connecting the flywheel to the crankshaft has 80 foot-pounds of torque. The bolt connecting the crankshaft to the engine block has 100 foot-pounds of torque. The rod connecting the pistons to the crankshaft has 42.5 foot-pounds of torque. The rod's bearing nuts have 45 foot-pounds of torque. The hub connecting the vibration damper to the crankshaft has 80 foot-pounds of torque.

    Other Torque Specs

    • The positive stop nut has 20 foot-pounds of torque and the rocker arm stud has 75 foot-pounds of torque. The bolt connecting the rocker arm to the rocker arm shaft has 20 foot-pounds of torque. The bolt connecting the timing chain to the engine block has 15 foot-pounds of torque and the bolt connecting the timing chain to the camshaft has 42.5 foot-pounds of torque.
