- 1). Plug the mini refrigerator into a working electrical outlet. If the refrigerator is plugged into an outlet with a ground-fault circuit-interrupter (GFCI), plug it into another outlet. An outlet with a GFCI will have a button on it.
- 2). Examine household fuses or circuit breakers. Reset thrown circuit breakers by pushing them into the "On" position. Unscrew and remove cloudy or black fuses and replace with new fuses.
- 3). Turn the control knob to the "On" position or move the control to a temperature setting to turn the mini refrigerator on.
- 4). Check to see if the defrost button was pressed, if applicable. Some models have a defrosting cycle. If the mini refrigerator is defrosting, allow it to complete the cycle. It will resume cooling after two or three hours.
- 1). Turn the temperature control to a cooler setting. Wait several hours for the refrigerator to cool to the new temperature setting.
- 2). Close the door and allow it to remain closed as much as possible. Warm air enters the refrigerator when the door is opened and causes the interior temperature to rise.
- 3). Allow the refrigerator to cool for four hours after installation or if it has been unplugged for an extended period of time.
- 1). Allow the refrigerator to cool completely after installation. The motor will run longer while it is cooling down to the selected temperature.
- 2). Clean the refrigerator door gasket with a damp cloth if the door is not sealing properly. If the door is not sealing, it allows warm air to enter the interior of the refrigerator. The motor runs longer to maintain the selected temperature.
- 3). Allow the refrigerator to cool for several hours after placing warm food inside. The motor will run longer while the refrigerator cools down to the correct temperature.
