A Brief Look At The Damaging Result Of Obesity

Decades of study and medical expertise show how much obesity is harmful to health. The health costs of obesity in 2010 for the US is massive and is well over 100 billion dollars per annum. Of course a lot less is spent for weight loss products and solutions, but it continues to be in the billions annually. The US is slowly gaining more weight with each passing year, or so it appears. Several culprits that only worsen this state of affairs are corporations that manufacture ready-made foods and destructive drinks. The major issue with a lot of foods and drinks is they contain unhealthy varieties of fat and are full of sugar. We will talk about several of the negative consequences to health resulting from being obese.

Type 2 diabetes due to obesity has been increasing at an alarming rate in recent times. What has become even more scary is the soaring incidence of this condition in younger people who are also severely overweight. Obesity is recognized to cause insulin resistance which is important and a precursor to higher levels of glucose levels. There is little doubt that years of eating high sugar content food items and drinks plays a tremendous role. One very harmful ingredient used in so many carbonated drinks is high fructose corn syrup. This mixture is a lot like super strong sugar and will send glucose levels soaring.

Premature difficulties involving joints are frequently a side effect of the obese state. Particularly vulnerable joints include the knees and hips, and the reason for that is they carry so much weight. When the joints have so much wear and tear, they will produce other severe issues such as arthritis. Unfortunately the usual practice of joint replacement is not necessarily a viable option. However, the best outcomes occur when there is not an obese problem in these patients. But for individuals who could gain from it yet are obese, this is not always recommended. There are certain risks inherent if surgery happens due to the mechanics of the overall situation. The joint that was changed may begin to be mechanically unsound which can be highly undesirable.

Problems are common involving the heart and especially high blood pressure. It would seem that pretty much every major function by the body processes is challenged. The reason for this as it relates to the cardiovascular system is the excess fat tissue still necessitates blood for nutrients and oxygen. It all leads back to the heart clearly because that is what moves the bloodstream. Not interestingly, the heart must generate a great deal of pressure to keep all that tissue oxygenated. In addition to the high blood pressure, the heart rate will be much higher as well.

Obesity puts the entire body in a risky state for a wide selection of health conditions. There are additional similarly threatening conditions that can easily result from an obese condition.
