If we chart the path of our evolution, it wouldn't be an over exaggeration to say that humans were primarily engineers. The wonders of the world – the ancient as well as the modern as feats of engineering; they are marvels that we bask in glory of today! There are countless examples of engineering marvels spread throughout the world including the Hanging Gardens of Babylon to the Pyramids to the Taj Mahal of India! All of them are engineering marvels. And even to this date, we are continuously stretching our wings of imagination and creativity. Some of the modern world's marvels are located in the country of Dubai and who can forget the symbol steel architecture of the Eiffel Tower in Paris?

Choosing Engineering as a Career

Core engineering is considered one of the most coveted careers to choose. There may have spruced up different branches of study including the unconventional ones, but at the core, engineering remains the most desired. It is so much in demand today that basic sciences have also started including a bit of engineering in their syllabus! It was recognized that without engineering, it would be difficult to impart the knowledge of basic sciences to the students.

Automobile Engineering: Since the time when the wheel was invented, it has been re-invented countless times and is being re-invented still today. The basic criteria though remain the same – to go faster and achieve the seemingly unachievable. There has been a little stop for a while on making fuel guzzling machines though; there is an increased demand to make the ultimate fuel efficient vehicles or vehicles that run on water, thereby minimizing the environmental impact as much as possible. Mechanical: Mechanical engineering is still considered the father of all engineering branches because it encompasses everything and anything that is used to ‘engineer'. Any engineering feat would not have been possible without this branch of engineering; all other branches are derived from it.

We would be virtually nowhere, not even existence; this is the importance of engineering foods and optimizing food processing so that we can meet the demands of an ever growing population. Food engineering has become so important because of the fact that we have to optimize the use of natural resources and aim to sustain the pace of growth. And that growth can only be achieved and sustained if we get the right amount of nutrition without having to spend a bomb on getting the simple meal which is our right as a living being!
