One of the most unwanted household chores is to declutter and organize a closet. It's a painstaking and overwhelming project. Oftentimes, too many clothes in the closet is more of a drawback rather than a benefit. If you don't have time to organize your wardrobe, you end up not wearing 50% of your clothes. For you to be able to organize your stuff, you will have to buy some padded hangers to help you out.
The first step you need to do is to commit an afternoon of arranging your stuff. It's not easy and it will consume your time. Think of it this way, it's time-consuming for you to arrange your day planner, the more it's time-consuming to arrange your whole wardrobe.
Once you've committed an afternoon, dump everything out of your closet. That doesn't mean that you have to throw it out in the trashcan. This will just get you a view as to how big your closet is. Once all clothes are out, separate it according to their dominant color.
After that, take a look of each and every clothes that you have. If you haven't worn a piece of clothing for the past 6 months, throw it. If a dress or tank top is 2 sizes is smaller than you, throw it out. You were smaller back then but you just have to admit to yourself that your body physique has changed. Do not keep the clothes that you do not need. Clothes that are out of style should be thrown out too.
After all the throwing out and separating it to different colors, you now have to separate it by season. Say for example, it's the winter season. You have to pack all your sexy swimsuits and beach cover-up in the lower part of your closet. For the winter clothes, remember not to use padded hangers on loose knit sweaters.
