- 1). Saw a piece of wood 8 1/4 inches long and 2 3/4 inches wide.
- 2). Measure a 40-degree angle on each side of one end of the plank of wood. Mark the line to be cut on each side. Draw a line across the wood connecting the end of each line.
- 3). Cut the angled line with a hacksaw.
- 4). Measure a point 6 5/8 inches from the angled end and 1 3/8 inches from the side. Drill a 1 3/16 inch hole on this point using a hole saw.
- 5). Sand and varnish the balancing rack to make it aesthetically pleasing. Test it by balancing a bottle of wine in it.
