How to Paint a Cultured Marble Vanity

    • 1). Scrub the cultured marble vanity with soap and a brush. Rinse the vanity thoroughly. Allow the surface to dry completely.

    • 2). Scour the cultured marble with sandpaper, abrading the vanity to promote adhesion.

    • 3). Wipe down the cultured marble vanity with a tack cloth.

    • 4). Cover the wall directly adjacent to the vanity with blue painter's tape. Cover the faucets, sink reservoir, and mirror with masking paper and painter's tape. Cover flooring directly below the vanity with drop cloths.

    • 5). Apply a thin coat of primer to the cultured marble vanity using the 4-inch latex paintbrush. Allow the primer to dry for three hours.

    • 6). Wash the paintbrush with water.

    • 7). Pour the epoxy resin and catalyst into the painter's pot, and stir them together for five minutes. Dilute the epoxy paint to promote a smoother application by stirring in 1 ounce of water per 1 gallon of epoxy.

    • 8). Apply two light coats of the diluted epoxy to the vanity using the paintbrush. Do not over-apply because that may lead to drips and runs. Allow two hours of drying time between coats.
