- 1). Make a list of all the available gospel instruments. An organ is a likely item to end up on the list. Other instruments, like guitars or violins might also end up on the list. The list should include any instruments the church often uses or that is associated with the church. If members of the choir or church offer an instrument, it can also end up on the list.
- 2). Determine the location of the anniversary. If the anniversary celebration is not taking place inside the church, larger instruments might not be practical for the event. If it takes place in the church, the large church instruments can remain on the list.
- 3). Select songs for the event. The songs will often dictate the instruments. Eliminate any instruments that do not work with the songs selected for the event.
- 4). Look over any remaining instruments. If the number of instruments is manageable, such as four or five, further selection is not necessary. If there are still several instruments on the list, select instruments to remove.
