Read a schematic. This illustrates the layout and nature of the circuit. Familiarize yourself with the values and location of the board-mounted components, such as resistors, cathodes, transistors and capacitors. - 3

Populate a printed circuit board (PCB). If your printed circuit board is not pre-assembled, install the board components into their individual turrets. Push each component in so that the connectors poke through. Consult the schematic to ensure each part is located correctly. Once complete, turn the board over and solder the connectors to the base. - 4

Assemble a chassis. The chassis contains preamp and power amp components. Mount a power transformer on the side nearest the power supply. Fit it in the large square opening and line it up so that the solder lugs are level. Solder the transformer in place. Mount an output transformer in the remaining large square opening. Install a power supply. Connect the red power supply wire to the positive board eyelet and the black wire to the negative. Thread the two speaker wires from the power amp out of the chassis. Tape them to the outside of the chassis for connection later. - 5). Test the circuit. Set a multimeter to "resistance." Place the multimeter probe on the circuit directly after the first resistor. Power up the circuit board. The reading should be the same as the wall current. If it is unusually low, double-check that the resistor is installed correctly.

Install the chassis. The completed chassis will slot neatly into the top of the stereo amplifier cabinet. - 7). Fit the speakers. Screw each speaker into the support struts located inside the amp cabinet. There is a strut that runs horizontally alongside the inside of the top panel and one on the inside bottom panel. Gently pull the speaker to ensure a tight fit.
- 8). Wire the speakers. Remove the tape from the speaker wire and solder each one to the input terminal on the speaker. If the wires are loose, tape the slack to the inside top panel.
- 9). Enclose the cabinet. Fit the front grille. Depending on the model of stereo amplifier, this will either clip on or screw in. Screw on the rear panel.
