Queer as Folk follows the life of a group of gay men that are somewhere in their twenties and thirties.
The main character in the series is Brian, played by Gale Harold.
Brian has an advertising job that pays him well and has a trendy apartment.
He is also blessed with looks which allow him to get different men each night.
Brian also has a son with a lesbian friend named Lindsey, played by Thea Gill.
Michael, played by Hal Sparks is Brian's best friend who is cute but still quite insecure.
Michael works at a store and tries to help his best friend make sense out of his complicated life.
Justin, played by Randy Harris is a student in high school who looses his virginity to Brian and making life more complicated.
He hangs around with him all the time searching for love.
There are two other characters Ted, played by Scott Lowell who is quite an efficient but a little boring man.
Emmett, played by Peter Paige is the high drama queen in the group of friends.
The group of friends is not modest at all and makes all of their decisions in life based on their sexual desires.
Most of the story line revolves around their sexual encounters.
Brian without any hesitation wins a client by having sex with him in the office.
Michael on the other hand is being lusted after by a female colleague who has no idea that he is gay.
Ted is into drugs and ends up in a hospital after snorting a doubtful drug.
During the series Justin's mother comes to know that he is gay and so the story goes on.
Queer as Folk seasons 1-5 dvd collections revolves around the sexcapades of the group of gay men and the difficult situations that they have to face in life.
Even their friendships are dictated by the fact that they are gay.
For example when Brian and Michael were 14 they had a sexual encounter, though Michael still years for Brian regularly.
On the other hand Ted is fascinated with Michael.
The series has a good mix of drama, comedy and a dose of reality that allows viewers to get an understanding of the difficult choices that gay men have to face in their day to day lives.
The show makes for a good viewing experience because it is much different than the soap operas and the other shows on television.
