- 1). Clean out the rabbit's litter box regularly. As urine can easily build up in a litter box, it is important that it be cleaned thoroughly. Dump out the used litter and wipe the box clean before refilling it with a fresh batch of litter. Check around the litter box for accidental spills and wipe up any excess urine. Use warm water and a little white vinegar to clean the cage.
- 2). Purchase products from your local pet store specifically designed to repel a rabbit's odor. Some odor repellents can simply be added to the litter. Follow the directions on the product for application.
- 3). Brush and groom the rabbit if its fur is tangled or soiled. Do not give the rabbit a full emersion bath, as rabbits can easily catch cold when wet.
- 4). Neuter or spay your rabbit. This procedure aids in reducing the animal's smell, and ensures their continued health in other ways as well.
- 5). Visit your pet's veterinarian if the rabbit seems to defecate or urinate an extraordinary amount, or if the feces and urine have a consistently strong and foul odor.
