Weekly Sighting Reports-04-09-09

Indiana-03-23-09-Walking down Appersonway heading south, I stopped at the intersection of Fischer Street and as I looked to the west I saw orange lights coming on in sequence about 4 or 5 degrees apart. The lights turned off in sequence in the matter of 5 seconds.
I took these to be flares, because I have seen flares before in that area. This event occurred about 15 degrees above the horizon and appeared to be in the order of 1 to 3 miles away.

After those lights went out, 10 to 12 lights appeared just to the north of the area as the first lights.

They appeared to be spaced approximately a fingernail's length apart. They looked like a string of beads, in a circular pattern going around an object. They were orange. I noticed the lights were on all at the same time and they went out all at the same time, not in sequence which was different from the earlier lights I observed.

I took that the two events could have been connected because they were in the same time and area. I thought the second lights were not flares because the lights were not spaced apart, only a small degree compared to the lights before which I believe could have been flares. Also, because the lights all shut out together at the same time made them appear suspicious. source: www.mufon.com

Indiana-03-27-09-At 5:30 AM, I woke for some unknown reason. I was feeling kind of tingly. I didn't hear anything going on, no dogs, airplanes, etc. I decided to get up and go to the bathroom, and as I slid out of my bed I looked out the window in front of me and that's when I saw it!

A red flickering V shape.

The whole V was lit with red flickering lights. I rubbed my eyes to see more clearly and it was the same thing. It was so close in the neighbor's yard that it was the size of a good 5 inches across, and it was hovering stationary.

I went to get my binoculars and glasses, and when I got back, I couldn't find it. Then it flickered again a little further over in the neighbor's yard. I tried to see it in binoculars, but it was too late, or the buildings outside were blocking my view. source: www.mufon.com

Oklahoma-03-26-09-My brother and I stepped out back to smoke at about 1:00 AM. I saw a light that looked like no other star I've see before through my telescope.

After watching it for a few moments while smoking my cigar, I could actually tell it was moving. At this time I still thought it was nothing. I am a UFO skeptic.

But after continually observing it, I was able to logically rule out anything I thought it could be. It was at this time I told my brother about it. I said almost jokingly, "I think this might be a UFO here." I still didn't believe what I was seeing. It was bright with colors rotating throughout it, mostly red, green, and blue.

There were strobing lights coming from it at times, radiating out at least 5 times the width of the object. It moved, but not very fast, and it appeared to move back and forth a little but mostly in a single direction. I tried to get some video, but my handheld HD camera wouldn't pick it up in such light conditions.

My brother got his binoculars out of his truck and we observed it through those. You could then clearly see it was almost a chrome light, and the colors made it almost look like a pearl glowing very brightly. You could see the strobes very clearly with the binoculars. After observing it for a while we went back in due to how cold it was but would step out and look at it every few minutes.

We almost convinced ourselves it was a star, but then on the next trip out it was gone. I've always thought UFOs were just people seeing planes, or other common objects, but this was unreal. source: www.mufon.com

Texas-03-26-09-I was walking the dog at around 9:35 PM. It had been raining all day, yet the skies were clear. I was looking at the stars and watching the air traffic in the area after having dinner with my wife.

I continued walking, and facing west, noticed something moving in the sky. I looked up to observe a very small, very dimly lit triangular object moving roughly northwest, very quickly.

It had very small, very dim, white lights on the bottom, at least 6 or 8, and appeared to be very low, under 5,000 ft by my estimation. There was absolutely no sound, and the street I was nearby was very quiet at the time. The object moved very quickly, and went behind the apartments ahead of me before I had a chance to get to a better viewing position.

This object was clearly not a helicopter, small plane, or commercial aircraft. It was too small, too quiet, too dimly lit, and too fast.

I was immediately struck with disbelief, and felt like it had to be something easily explainable, but the more I thought about it, the less likely that seemed. source: www.mufon.com
