Peachtree 2005 Features

    Specifications

    • The Peachtree Complete Accounting 2005 program was available in two licensed versions: the single user and the multi-user value pack for up to five users. Distributed by CD-ROM on the Windows platform, its minimum supported color depth was 16-bit with 64K colors. The minimum system requirements included a Pentium II with 64 MB of RAM and a 300 MHz processor. The following operating systems supported Peachtree 2005: Microsoft Windows 2000 SP3, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows XP SP1, Windows NT 4.0 SP6a and Windows Millennium Edition.

    Features

    • Since the Peachtree Complete Accounting 2005 program did not use plain-English accounting terms, it provided 20 instructional videos that demonstrated basic tasks ranging from closing an accounting year to making a backup. It also included a Find-On-Report tool that searched for text within reports and financial statements, an Auto-Creation tool that generated purchase orders when inventory levels dropped below the user-specified amount and a mail-merge program that integrated data with Microsoft Word. For mailing purposes, it offered the UPS Registration Wizard that calculated shipping costs and printed labels from within the program. In addition, users could import and export Excel files as well as their competitors' data files from programs such as QuickBooks and Quicken.

    Support

    • New users of Peachtree Complete Accounting 2005 were offered 30 days of free technical support after registration while upgrades were allowed one free support call for up to 30 days after installation. In 2005, the program's support packages included e-mail and telephone help with prices that ranged from $179 to $299. Other additional 2005 features included a Direct Deposit program that charged $1.50 per transaction with a $75 one-time setup fee. For users who opted out of the annual support packages, Peachtree also offered $5-per-minute phone support.
