How to Make Fun Quizzes

    For the Classroom

    • 1). Ask the students to write down their favorite things, such as movies or books. This could also include things such as middle names or family pet names. Make sure none of the students look at each other’s information.

    • 2). Divide the class into teams. This could be girls vs. boys or smaller groups of 5 to 10 students.

    • 3). Create questions that pertain to something learned in the classroom. This could be geography, math or physical activities, such as gym exercises.

    • 4). Create non-academic questions to make the quiz more interesting. For example, ask the boys about the girls’ middle names or ask the girls about the boys’ favorite movies, if the teams are boys against girls. This allows for student interaction and is a fun way for the students to learn something about each other.

    • 5). Have prizes to give to the winners after rounds of 5 or 10 questions. This could be anything from snacks to a day off from homework, for example. Students are more willing to participate in quizzes, where prizes are frequent. The group of students that win the most rounds win the quiz.

    Family or Business Quizzes

    • 1). Comprise a list of questions that pertains to the participants and to items or things in the home. If the quiz is for a party, questions may also include incidents that have happened the night of the event prior to the quiz or previous events, such as the year before, if an annual event.

    • 2). Create further questions such as pop-culture questions, celebrities, movies, and music. These should be questions that focus on something most of the competitors have in common. For example, include Disney questions for the children.

    • 3). Divide the participants into groups or have each person be on their own. Provide prizes for every 5 questions guessed correctly to keep the motivation and determination going amongst participants. Include prizes such as a bottle of wine, souvenir glasses or gift certificates, if for a company party. If it needs to be cheaper prizes, consider making crafts, arts or food as prizes or go to the dollar store and buy smaller items.
