Imagine you are standing in a room with 100 other aspiring coaches and consultants. You are all standing around and talking about how you are going to develop your business. How you can make money. How you can make a difference. And how you can be one of the very SMALL minority of life coaches, skilled advisors or consultants that truly succeed. Now think that a fly on the wall is checking the room....and guessing which ones of you will actually make GOOD on your plans.

Wish to know the truth? When I ask this question of MOST wishful coaches, and I ask them to distinguish what they TRUST will be the most significant component to becoming Prosperous in their practice, they get it wrong.

They usually say certification. Or getting some sort of advanced degree. Or even learning additional coaching TECHNIQUES that will increase their abilities to assist their clientele.
And when they say this....they would be WRONG.

Why?

Because the true gateway to unbounded success as a coach lies in 2 very simple qualities, in combination with one acquired skill.

The qualities?

Empathy and Passion.

The skill?

Marketing.

Empathy and passion can't really be taught. You either have it.....or you don't.

But MARKETING can be studied. And no matter how much you may CARE about your clients, if you don't learn to market yourself, you'll never get enough to sustain yourself. (unfortunately...no matter HOW passionate you may be..:-)

The bottom line?

If you are reading this far, I'm sure you've got lots of PASSION for your profession....and a genuine empathy with the needs, wants and desires of those you Desire to help. Learn to sell yourself. Learn to promote yourself. Write articles like this one. Learn to use social networking....press releases, PPC, link bait, leverage joint venture opportunities, make a newsletter and MOST importantly......establish a BLOG to serve as your bullhorn to the world.
