Go Green With Outdoor Solar Lights

Solar power is the best option for outdoor lighting.
Taking into account the numerous advantages of solar energy, using it, rather than the electricity to illuminate our gardens, patios, and pools, is an intelligent decision.
Why go for outdoor solar lights when we have normal lights that provide a brighter light than the former? Well, the first thing to note is that though the normal fxtures that use electricity are a bit brighter than the ones that use solar power, the difference is not much, and the advantages of using solar lights far outweighs this little shortcoming.
Solar energy is a renewable source of energy and its utilization has no harmful effects on our Earth's environment.
Electricity on the other hand is mostly generated using non-renewable sources like coal and fossil fuels.
By using solar lighting, we are contributing our bit to "go green".
We can save ourselves from electricity bills, the installation and wiring hassles, and the maintenance costs this way.
The photovoltaic cells present in these fixtures absorb solar energy and use them to light themselves.
Most of them use LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes).
The more the number of LEDs in them, the brighter they glow.
Keeping our need in mind we can go for lights with a higher number of LEDs if we want a brighter glow.
Solar accent lights, pathway lights, garden lights, deck lights, wall or fence mounted lights, and stake lights are a few examples of the different varieties available.
Out of all them, accents are the least expensive because they are lowest wattage, and one day's charging can be used to light them for two nights.
There are again a lot of shapes, sizes, and designs available in these types of fixtures.
With improved technology, solar lights have become more efficient and less bulky.
Ensuring that the lights receive enough sunlight to charge themselves is the only thing to be kept in mind when installing these lights.
The nickel cadmium batteries that most of the lights use are very durable and last quite long.
Going for outdoor solar lights is the easiest way to meet our requirement in an energy conscious way.
