Dueling Piano Bars in Michigan

      As you enjoy a night out in the Great Lakes state, try one of the dueling piano bars, as you will be mesmerized by watching competing performers belt out tunes on the piano. Some of the bars will include guests on stage and sing songs about them to get the entire crowd involved so dueling piano bars have become a favorite for bachelor and bachelorette parties.

    JD’s Key Club

    • Located in Pontiac, Michigan, this dueling piano bar gets the entire crowd moving with the music. Open Wednesday through Saturday, the club features two hilarious piano players belting out tunes and encouraging the crowd to sing along. On weekends, JD’s often hosts five or six bachelor and bachelorette parties, and brings the guests of honor on stage to serenade them with a customized song. The bar offers different theme nights, including Ladies Night every Wednesday night, where women get in free until 10 p.m and receive $1 drinks. The bar recommends calling ahead for reservations, especially if you have a large crowd on weekends, when they will hold them until 9:30 p.m.

    Monaco Bay Piano Bar and Grill

    • Kalamazoo’s only piano bar, Monaco Bay features late night shows Thursday through Sunday and also serves dinner Thursday through Saturday nights. The bar showcases performers, who sings and performs songs on the piano in a traditional Las Vegas style. They combine entertainment and comedy to make you and your guests laugh, so the bar cautions not to be offended by any material, and to request any song you would like. The bar hosts private parties for large groups, as well as takes reservations for bachelor and bachelorette parties on the weekends. Monaco Bay takes reservations each night until 7 p.m., but only for customers that eating dinner as well. The bar offers some signature drinks and specials. On Saturday nights, a Monaco Breeze, which is a frozen concoction of blue curacao, sour mix, vodka, peach schnapps, and pineapple juice, is $5.

    Mojo’s Dueling Piano Bar

    • Mojo’s Dueling Piano Bar

      Situated in the heart of Grand Rapids, Mojo’s offers four shows a week, as well as an open dance floor on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Mojo’s interactive show features visiting piano players throughout the nation, whose repertoire include the hits of “piano men” like Billy Joel to college fight songs. As with other piano bars, Mojo’s also encourages your participation, be it requesting an old favorite or clapping and singing along. The bar features over 20 signature martinis for you to sip while enjoying the show, including the Mojo, which combines gin, vodka, amaretto, and cherry and melon liquors with pineapple juice, orange juice and a touch of soda. The bar opens up at 5 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m., except Saturday’s, which starts at 8 p.m.
