- 1). Open the Pansat receiver with your screwdriver. Look for the black chip in the middle. The chip will have "MX" or "Intel" on it. Write down the model number; it's either "29LV160CBT" or "28F160".
- 2). Connect your Pansat receiver to a computer using your JTAG cable.
- 3). Download "JTAG with SkyMax" software package. There is no other program that works to JTAG Pansat receivers.
- 4). Delete the old ROM file. Open the "SkyMax" program. Select from the "Adr Flash" menu "2MB 7FE00000". Click "Start" from the "Connection" menu. Click "Erase" from the "Flash Operations" menu. Wait for Erase success to appear on the status screen.
- 5). Install the new ROM file. Click on "Write" in the "Flash Operations" menu. On the new screen, select your ROM file based on the model number of your chip set; click "Open." The ROM will be installed, and you should see "Write Flash END" on the status screen, indicating that you successfully applied JTAG to your Pansat receiver.
