How to Import Video to Movie Studio 9

    • 1). Launch Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9. If importing DVD video, insert your DVD into your computer's disc drive. If importing other digital video formats on your hard drive, proceed to Step 2.

    • 2). Click the "File" tab at the top of the program's screen and hold your mouse's cursor over the "Import" sub-menu. Select the "Media" option to enter the "Import Media" search screen.

    • 3). Browse your hard drive and locate your input video file. Highlight its icon and click "Open." If opening a DVD video, double-click the DVD's icon, revealing its "Video_TS" and "Audio_TS" folders.

    • 4). Open the enclosed "Video_TS" folder. Click the "Files of Type" drop down menu near the bottom of the window and select "All Files" to reveal several file types on your DVD.

    • 5). Highlight the largest "VOB" file in your "Video_TS" folder since this is generally the feature-length movie. Click "Open" to load it in Movie Studio 9. Please see warnings included with this article.
