- 1). Select the "Settings" icons shaped like a toolbox from the PS3's home screen. Choose "Display Settings" from the sub-menu that appears by pressing the "X" button on your controller.
- 2). Select "Video Output Settings" and confirm the selection by pressing the "X" button. Select the connector you are using.
- 3). Press the "X" button if the PS3 informs you that it will "test the settings for 30 seconds." This will allow you to change the display of the system. Using the TV remote, cycle through the input settings, if your TV has them, until you find the setting that correctly displays the picture.
- 4). Select the resolution that is appropriate for your TV. If you are unsure about your TV resolution, consult the owner's manual. Select the aspect ratio from the following screen. Verify your settings on the final screen and press the "X" button to save your settings.
- 1). Select "Settings" from the PS3's home menu. Select "Game Settings" from the subsequent sub-menu by pressing the "X."
- 2). Select "PS/PS2 Upscaler" then press the "X" button to confirm. Choose either "Off," "Normal" or "Full Screen" from the "PS/PS2 Upscaler" menu. "Normal" will match the screen resolution to your TV. "Full Screen" will stretch the image to fit your entire display.
- 3). Select the "PS/PS2 Smoothing" option. Choose to either turn it "On" or "Off." When the smoothing option is on, it reduces roughness in older PlayStation console software.
