How to Remove Algae From Silicone in an Aquarium

    • 1). Put on your rubber gloves. Not only can this help you keep your hands clean, it will stop you from introducing bacteria to your tank.

    • 2). Remove any ornaments in your tank that might get in the way of your algae removal. If you have large pieces of driftwood or stone arrangements, this might be a good time to give them a thorough cleaning as well.

    • 3). Brush the algae gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Most types of algae will simply dislodge from the silicone and dissipate into the water.
