There is a very common workout practice amongst bodybuilders aimed at gaining muscle at a faster pace.
The practice I am referring to is called bulking up.
Bulking up basically means adding large amounts of extra calories into your diet.
Some people are of the concept that you can gain much more muscle faster if you over-consume calories.
The issue with this approach is, bulking up makes you gain noticeable amounts of fat even though you you may gain muscle mass well from the high caloric intake.
One of the smartest approach to gaining muscle is to eat the right volume of food that'll make you build muscle properly while minimizing fat gain.
Bulking up is contrary to this approach.
One main reason you need to minimize fat gain at all cost when gaining muscle is because fat cells are big enemies to your body and you just can't get rid of them completely.
Though one is able to shrink fat cells, it's impossible to eliminate them forever.
Also, the more fat cells you put in your body the more easy it'll be to gain more fat and the more difficult it'll be to burn fat.
Therefore, in order to save yourself the frustration of having to fight really hard to get lean it's best to avoid gaining too much fat from start.
The best way to gain lean muscle mass is to avoid putting excess fat on your body in the first place.
This will require you to incorporate the right diet and and workout routine to keep fat cells from multiplying.
If you have been overweight sometime in your past, it'll be harder for you to stay lean, however it is definitely possible once you take the right approach and avoid bulking up.
The easiest way to stay lean is by working with a combination of cardio and a diet that controls calorie intake.
It'll be easier for someone who is naturally lean to stay lean because they do not have many fat cells to give them a fight.
On the other hand, someone with lots of fat cells like obese people will have a harder time keeping their body fat level low.
This is why strategy to maintain a lean body is needed in your program and it is unwise to bulk up with additional fat cells.
Sometimes you see bodybuilders with a load of fat on their body and it's not because they want that, but it's rather due to the fact that it's difficult to get rid of the fat they gained from bulking up.
For this reason, it's important to keep fat cells from expanding when you're building muscle.
Make the effort to prevent excess fat being apart of your body your body when building muscle by avoiding fat gain.
