- 1). Open an existing project in your DAW, or create a new project.
- 2). Open the MIDI note editor. In most DAW programs, this can be accessed from a View or Edit drop-down menu. In the MIDI note editor, individual notes are visible as small rectangles. Their relative length corresponds to their duration, and their vertical position corresponds to their pitch.
- 3). Select the note you wish to change and drag it along the vertical axis. As a reference, most MIDI note editors have a piano keyboard along the leftmost vertical axis. With this, you can see the pitch of the note as you drag it up or down. Once you have arrived at the desired pitch, release the note.
- 4). Save your changes.
