If you listen to CD's, watch DVD's, or play PS3, Xbox 360 games, you've no doubt come across the problem of scratched discs.
We all hate when we spend lots of money on games and movies only to find them scratched up days later.
There are many at home tricks you can use to fix your scratched discs, which I will go into, but the easiest way I found to fix or repair your discs is to send them to a professional disc repair service.
With a little searching on the internet, you can find companies that will professionally restore your discs for only a few dollars! Companies such as these will send you a postage paid mailer to put your disc(s) in and you just drop it in the mail.
After a couple of days you will get your professionally restored disc back in the mail.
Super Easy! You can do a simple internet search and find the best and fastest companies for this type of service.
Using a service like this is much better than using abrasive solvents or at home gimmicks and "hope" your disc works.
There Is no need to hassle with your discs anymore with companies such as these around.
And this will work for all your discs.
Ps3, Xbox360, computer program discs, DVD, CD's and more.
It's simple and easy.
Think of how much money you spend replacing expensive Ps3 and Xbox games.
Not to mention DVDs, CDs and computer software discs.
Every time you or your kid's games get scratched or damaged, guess what...
you have to buy a new game.
With new games averaging over $50 a pop, you can see how this can really add up.
Now imagine how much money you would be saving every time one of your game or DVD discs get scratched or damaged, when you could send them to a professional restoring service.
This is the fastest and easiest way to go.
Let's take a look at some common remedies for scratches, warps and disc damage.
Doing a simple visual inspection or taking a quick glance at the surface of the disc should tell you whether your disc is repairable.
If it is broken or severely warped or has been left in your car to bake in the sun, it may be too far gone.
If you can see simple scratches, marks or blemishes on the surface then there are things that can be done.
Even if you use good quality discs and burning software normal wear and tear can still occur.
So check to see how severe the damage is.
Scratch repair, in reality, can be a pretty dodgy process and leave mixed results.
So again, if you are using glass cleaner, toothpaste, alcohol or some kind of scratch "fill in" solution you had better make sure that it is first of all safe for your disc.
I personally tried to use toothpaste on one of my discs and it did fill in some of the scratches, but I found that some of the toothpaste ended up messing up the "eye" of my DVD player.
My friend also said he tried to use alcohol for cleaning purposes and it did OK at first then he said the disc wouldn't read in his Xbox 360 a week later.
That is why most people have found it much easier to try a good professional disc repair service and have your disc restored for only a few bucks.
Another way, would be to go online and buy some expensive disc scratch repair kit but I would advise against that.
You could not only be wasting a lot of money, but most of the self repair kits use a solvent or solution that may eventually damage your disc.
A popular magazine recently did a series of independent tests on some of the more popular scratch repair kits and machines.
The results they showed were that none of the kits significantly repaired the scratches.
All in all, I would say most people nowadays would be much better served to use a professional disc repair service as mentioned above, you will save time and lots of money, not to mention frustration.
