Chihuahua Puppy Care - How to Prepare

Chihuahua is a city in northern Mexico and is famous for dogs which are tiny and short-haired; these Chihuahua puppies are tricky breeds to own as they are difficult to be trained at home.
They are quite small and are fragile in nature.
The puppy care for these Chihuahua puppies could be quite a difficult task if you don't learn how to care for them before bringing it home.
Prepare Before You Bring the Puppy Home Whenever you are not in a position to supervise your Chihuahua puppy, it is very important that you leave the puppy in an exercise crate or pen.
You should also have a bunch of old newspapers and litter box/ potty pads to facilitate the dog for easing itself.
You must realize that training a Chihuahua at home is a messy affair.
You must also buy the accessories such as a leash, a collar, a food bowl, a water bowl, chewing toys, and a book on how to cure for your Chihuahua.
Most important thing is to make your home puppy-proof by ensuring that electrical items are not exposed.

They cannot hold it.
Hence, it is necessary to constantly supervise a Chihuahua puppy and ensure that he does not wander around the house by himself.

In case you are unable to supervise him you should place him in his pen with food and other paraphernalia such as bed and the potty pad; food and bed are to be kept on one side whereas litter box / potty pad on the other side.
Chihuahua puppies refrain from eliminating where they eat and sleep and hence whenever they want to eliminate they go to the litter box.

The puppy should have sufficient water to drink however the water bowl should be stable enough that it can not be tipped over but small enough that the puppy can't fall in.
Many of the human foods contain toxic and dangerous substances for the puppies and hence you should resist feeding your Chihuahua with human foods.
You should have Nutri-cal (a high calorie dietary supplement) available readily at home in order to prevent hypoglycemia.
From the above, you can realize that breeding of Chihuahua puppies is not an easy task.
In case your schedule warrants you to be away from your Chihuahua for extended periods it is advisable not to opt for this breed of dog as your pet.
Constant supervision of Chihuahuas is very important to prevent health problems or other issues.
If you like small dogs and have the patience and time for to care for a Chihuahua puppy then a Chihuahua puppy could be the pet for you.
