- 1). Obviously, some cases of night sweats can be caused by simply being too hot while sleeping. Try dressing in thinner or less pajamas, taking a blanket off of the bed and turning down the thermostat in the bedroom.
- 2). Some men are simply heavy sweaters. During the day they take extra precaution to keep themselves dry like using antiperspirant or body powder. Try taking these same steps at night to end uncomfortable night sweats.
- 3). Do not exercise during the evening hours. Exercise raises the body temperatures for hours and can cause men to overheat while sleeping.
- 4). If you have a bedtime snack, avoid spicy food. Spicy or hot foods can make some people sweat.
- 5). Drink more water. Men with night sweats need to take in more water than usual to replenish what was lost during sweating, but also to cool down the body's core temperature. Drinking cold or even room temperature water will help to cool down the body internally.
