Test tube holders can do a lot more than just be used in a science classroom. The test tube holder's shape gives it a unique quality, perfect for upcycling the test tube holder into something useful and decorative in your home. - Upcycling is the new word to describe something that was already used before and turn it into something extraordinarily different. It was first uttered by William McDonaugh and Michael Braungart. To upcycle, you would have to convert a material into something of similar or greater value. To upcycle a test tube holder, you will need some creativity. A test tube holder is usually wooden rack with small holes in the top for the test tubes.
- Try using the original test tubes with the holder. Put the test tubes into the holder and fill halfway with water. Cut small flowers, like pansies, into single stems that each have their own test tube. This is a beautiful way to show off the most delicate and smallest of your garden's flowers in individual ways.
- If you have a selection of markers to which you would like quick access, try using the test tube holder has an individual marker holder. Slide in each marker into the test tube's original hole, making the markers portable and handy. This is a successful way for kids to also store the markers when they are finished drawing.
- Again, use the original test tubes with the test tube holder. Pour in individual spices into each test tube, capping them with a cork. On the top of the cork write the name of the spice. Slide test tubes filled with spices into the test tube holder and store in your cupboard to have an easily reachable spice rack.
