- 1). Measure the length and width of each chair back. Cut two identical pieces of fabric that are 2 inches longer and 2 inches wider than each chair back.
- 2). Pin the two pieces of fabric together with the right sides together. Sew the two long sides together and one of the short sides together. Use a basic running stitch and either sew by hand or with a sewing machine.
- 3). Pin the edges of the un-sewn side of the fabric down, creating a 1/4-inch-to-1/2-inch hem. Sew the hem down with a basic running stitch by hand or with a sewing machine. Remove the pins as you sew.
- 4). Turn each chair cover right-side-out and slide them onto the chair backs. You can add decorations to the covers, such as wrapping a sash around each one or gluing silk flowers or bows to them.
