Buffalo Film Festival

• The Annual Buffalo International Film Festival begins on October 1st and runs through October 10th, as of 2010. Movies are shown at several different theatres in the area, including The Market Arcade Film and Arts Center on Main Street. The films being featured include independent features, motion picture classics and films made by Western New Yorkers.

Clarence and Western New York's Family Fall Festival

• The Great Pumpkin Farm in Clarence celebrates the fall harvest every weekend throughout October with special events including a barbecue cook off, trebuchet contest, and a national pie-eating contest. Every weekend is a festival atmosphere that includes amusement rides, a petting zoo, hayrides, and food and refreshments. Admission is $5 per person and children under three are free, as of 2010. The pumpkin farm is open daily from 10 a.m. until dusk.

Free Music Fridays at The Hardrock

• Every Friday night in October at 8 p.m. The Hard Rock Café in Niagara Falls presents free music. In 2010, the Hard Rock will present artists Gretchen Schulz and Doug Morgano, Joyryde, The Allison Pipitone Band, The Kate Engler Band and The Diva Show.
