- 1). Scout the area for the most attractive campground areas. People will not feel comfortable investing in the membership if the membership you sell them does not provide comparable amenities and services. By knowing what other similar packages sell for, you can be sure you are meeting the market on its own terms.
- 2). Negotiate commission rates with the campground owner until you are satisfied that your efforts will be sufficiently rewarded. This is also a good time to discuss with the owner the advertising budget and other ancillary costs you might incur when selling the campground memberships.
- 3). List the memberships in relevant camping and outdoor trade magazines. These publications offer wide circulation while targeting an interested demographic. Many of these trades might even be willing to write a full-length feature on your campground if you can find an angle that is attractive to the publisher.
- 4). Contact Internet discussion boards in order to post the availability of your campground memberships to a broad audience. Participating actively in these discussion boards will draw attention to the service you provide and build up a reputation over time. These boards are easily discoverable through an Internet search.
- 5). Call past customers to see if they are ready to renew their campground memberships. Returning points of sale is one of the strongest aspects of any business, and campground memberships are no exception.
