"I want to know how to get my baby to sleep all night!" If you find your asking yourself this question over and over again, every time you've been woken up to the sound of your baby crying over the past few weeks then your in the right place.
I'm going to tell you how you can get your baby to sleep, so you can finally get some sleep and function like a human being again.
The 3 R's...
Routine, routine and routine! This is the most effective technique you can use to get your baby to sleep through the night.
A good sleep routine can consist of anything you want.
But usually you can start with a bath, then go into a story or cuddling time before putting them into the crib while they're still awake.
It's very important to get the baby to learn how to fall asleep themselves.
Otherwise, anytime they wake up they will need to have you come and cuddle them until they fall asleep.
Getting baby naps right Many parents get the napping wrong during the day, which can have negative results during the night.
So how do you nap your baby the right way? Three big things to take note of are, the length of the nap, how many per day and when during the day do they occur.
Typically, your child will be napping three times a day up to around nine months to a year old, two times a day until around eighteen months to two years, and once a day until he or she is about three.
A good nap should last at least an hour.
The naps should be roughly evenly spaced in the daytime hours, so that each block of waking time is similar in duration.
If your child is very far off on any of these standards, naps may be contributing to sleeping problems at night.
Most often, problems occur from too little napping and an overtired child.
Hopefully now a few less people will be asking themselves how to get my baby to sleep.
