Want an extra boost of self-confidence when you go out on a date? Simply take a shower before the big event.
This will ensure that you feel fresh and clean, and help you smell that way too! There are a wide variety of bath soaps designed to leave a fresh scent.
You can evaluate your bath soap with a quick sniff, or ask your friends and family what are their favorite brands.
While the soap you choose should make you smell clean and fresh, you should avoid those that smell like flowers or perfume.
You might also want to avoid those shower gels claimed to be for both men and women.
If your date is using the same brand of gel as you are, you might not present a very manly appearance! Here's another consideration: if you smell feminine or you are wearing a scent like that of your date's own shower gel, she may wonder if you already have a girlfriend or even a wife! Few women are interested in the possibility of being a mistress or even a homewrecker! Be sure you're clean-shaven -- you might want to shave immediately before the date, and if you have a beard or mustache be sure it is well trimmed.
Get a haircut if you need to do so.
You should always look your best to make a good first impression.
Also check that your fingernails are clean and well trimmed.
If you work with your hands and they tend to get greasy or soiled, get a good nail brush.
There are special cleaners and soaps and gels especially for cleaning the hands.
Your breath is important too-- especially for those all important kisses! If you are a coffee drinker, you may want to hold off for the day of the date, as coffee is a major cause of bad breath.
So is smoking, and aside from the many other reasons to give up this habit, your breath will smell much cleaner and fresher.
Hold off on spicy or garlicy foods on the big day as well, drink plenty of water, and be sure to carry along some breath mints.
Here's a final tip: if you expect to get intimate with your date, you may want to pay attention to your toenails! If you take off your shoes and your feet smell, or a woman sees toenails longer than her fingernails she might suddenly remember an appointment she "forgot" she had!
