Add color to your garden by creating exciting arts and crafts to brighten it up. From homemade stepping stones to rock painting, find all you need to create projects for your garden at local retail, garden and crafts stores. Whether you have a flower or vegetable garden, these crafts are enjoyable to make and will enhance the area.

    Stepping Stone

    • Make your own homemade stepping stone for your garden using cement, any size or shape baking pan, cooking spray, craft glue, screening mesh and patio paint. Place the screening mesh on top of the mold you are using and cut the exact shape. The mesh will help adhere the concrete and keep it from cracking. Wash the pan with soap and water and dry completely. Spray the cooking spray all over the pan, as this will help with the release process. Mix the concrete according to the instructions and pour the concrete in the pan about 1/2 full. Take the piece of screening mesh and lay it on the layer of concrete. Pour the rest of the mixture on top of the mesh. Allow the cement to completely dry before moving it or taking it out of the pan. Once it is dry, run water over the top to wash it off. After that dries, remove the finished stone from the pan and use cement paint to decorate your finished project. Write "Welcome to Our Garden" on the stepping stone in cement paint.

    Terra-Cotta Birdbath

    • Create a terra-cotta birdbath with clay pots, clay pot trays, satin finish paint, paintbrush and clear enamel glaze paint. Turn the clay pot upside down and hot glue a clay pot tray to the top of the pot. This will create the birdbath for your garden. Take satin finish paint and paint the pot as you would like. After the paint dries, paint the clear enamel glaze all over the pot to make it weather-resistant and shiny.

    Painted Rocks

    • Create painted rocks for your garden with different sizes and shapes of stone rocks, acrylic paint and a clear paint sealer. Find rocks that resemble different-shaped animals and items. Paint the rocks according to the shape of the rock. Use acrylic paints and paintbrushes to paint the rocks. Once they are dry, spray each rock with a clear paint sealer to keep them weather-resistant. Put the rocks in your garden and enjoy.
