How an Online Business Works Internet marketing has a very high quit rate and a lot of this is because new marketers get into this business thinking it is "easy.
" The truth is...
You can make money working from home...
but...
it isn't all that easy...
not at first.
It took me a long time to understand that there is a process which needs to be learned if we want to be successful internet marketers.
In writing this article I would like to give you an idea of how online/internet marketing works, and why understanding the process is so important.
There are really only three basic skills that you need to learn...
BUT within these two skills are a number of other skills you must learn, before you can start making money online.
1.
Build a list: 2.
Create a website 3.
Start using and autoresponder Building a list ...
is the most important lesson you can learn...
because it allows you to regularly generate traffic to your website The biggest mistake I see beginners and people new to the internet making, is getting excited about finding a product and thinking that they are going to make money right away.
(I know this because that was exactly what I did when I first started online, and I made zilch nadda, nothing for the first couple of years) Creating a website...
despite what you read or hear, having your own website is something you will have to have sooner or later.
You need to capture your prospects name and email address so that you can build your list and the sooner you start to do this the sooner you will start earning an income.
Whilst you do not have your own website the merchant who's products you are selling is collecting your clients details and you are missing out on many future sales.
Your autoresponder...
is your secret weapon, and is the key to building your list.
Your autoresponder is your legal marketing tool, because your clients have agreed to allow you to send them information.
Should there be any problems later with someone who has forgotten they subscribed to your list and report you as spam, you have the proof that this is not the case.
Your autoresponder keeps track of who has signed up for your newsletter, series information etc.
and allows you to keep track of your subscribers...
who has joined your list and who has un-subscribed.
