Twitter - Taking Over The World

Today, everybody knows Twitter; it has become a household name.
People of all ages are using it- at the office, at home, from a public computer or even through mobile phones.
But surely, this comes as no surprise.
With the convenience it offers for people to get updated with the 'tweets' of family, friends, co-workers, celebrities and other famous personalities, who would not want to be part of it? As a quick overview, Twitter works in the same way as text messaging except that it has a limit of only 140 characters.
Whatever you use these 140 characters for, in a process called 'tweeting,' will be for the rest of the world to see.
In the same way, tweets from people you know will also be made visible to you every time you log in to the system.
You probably want to find out where Twitter originated.
Well, it was created by geniuses: Noah Glass, Evan Williams, Jack Dorsey and Biz Stone, and introduced to the public in 2006 but it was Odeo who ironed out all the flaws of the original version.
Twitter was supposed to be an office-based system that provides an avenue for people working in a particular office or company to keep in touch, up until people realized the benefits it can bring to everyone.
What is special about Twitter, anyway? Why are we so crazy about it? For one thing, it allows members to get updated on what's going on with everybody else, and quite easily at that.
Think of it as a mini version of MySpace, with people getting countless number of followers, except that it is less complicated, and rather convenient.
In fact, you can access it even from your mobile phone through mtwitter.
com.
Signing up Signing up for Twitter would just take you a minute.
If you have one of the more popular email accounts such as Yahoo, you can send invitations using your address book from these email accounts.
Don't worry as it is completely safe.
Twitter Search In truth, searching for people on Twitter may be a bit of challenge, as you cannot be too sure if they are the person they claim to be.
This is especially true for celebrities.
If you want to check out what Clive Owen, Vin Diesel, Demi Moore or Jimmy Fallon is doing, you cannot really be certain if they are the real deal.
What you can do is look for the big name hitters on Twitter (the very famous people) and check out who are following them as well as who they are following.
Most likely, you will find other popular people there too.
Twitter is a low-maintenance, hassle-free site that has become very valuable for so many people.
From the way things are now, it seems that Twitter will certainly be around for a long, long time.
That is, unless of course something better comes along.
