The Panasonic DMR-EZ24V is a DVD Recorder/VCR combination player that allows video transferring from VHS to DVD as well as DVD to VHS. It utilizes multiple formats to ensure the user has the flexibility to share memories with friends and family members. The DMR-EZ24V also upgrades the video quality of DVDs to high definition and accepts different multimedia inputs. - The Panasonic DMR EZ47V offers multiple recording formats to choose from when transferring video to a DVD. The formats are DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW, +R, +R DL and +RW. The recording time ranges from one hour to eight hours depending on the quality of the video. Playable disc formats are DVD-Ram, DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW, +R, +R DL, DVD-Video, CD Audio, CD-R and CD-RW.
- The speed for recording ranges from 1X to 8X. The higher the speed, the faster the DVD will record the video without loss of quality. DVD-Ram records in 2X, 2-3X and 2-5X speeds depending on the version of the DVD. DVD-R in SL mode records in 1X, 1 - 4X, 1 - 8X and 1 - 16X speeds. DVD-R in DL mode records in 2 - 4X speed and 2 -8X speed. DVD-RW records in 1X, 1 - 2X, 2 - 4X and 2 - 6X speeds. +R in SL Mode records in speeds of 2.4X, 2.4- 4X, 2.4- 8X and 2.4- 16X. +R in DL mode records in speeds of 2.4X and 2.4 -- 8X speed. +RW records in speeds of 2.4X and 2.4X -- 4X.
- The Panasonic DMR EZ24V uses an MPEG2 format regardless of the type of disc used. The video inputs for recording purposes are inputs AV1 and AV2 which allow composite video and S-Video connectivity . The Video output uses a composite video, an S-Video out and a component video out. The S-Video output and the component video output will only work with the DVD player. The HDMI output works only with the DVD player and provides 1080p upconversion to enhance the picture quality of the standard DVDs. There is also a IEEE 1394 plug to connect camcorders to record video directly to the DVD.
- The recording format is a VHS video Cassette System standard. There are four Helical Scan Heads for video, two Helical Scan Heads for FM Audio and one Fixed Head for Normal audio. The tape speed for PAL is SP for 240 minutes, LP for 480 minutes and EP for 720 minutes. If using NTSC the recording speeds are SP with 168 minutes and EP with 505 minutes.
