Question:
This may sound odd but I'll ask anyway. Are there any sites for adults, seniors who enjoy coloring pictures where we can go to to download them? I've tried; but once you type adult or senior all you get is porn, and I'm not interested in that. I've just about done with those by Dover Publtcations I'm imterested in; and wish to get more to color as it's very relaxing for me.
Sincerely,
Parenting K-6 Children Visitor
Answer:
OK, we're busted! The parents' little secret, that we still love to color, has been exposed to the world with this visitor's question. You know we're hooked when we buy expensive colored pencils at the art supply store, for our kids of course.
It's the perfect way to spend a quiet afternoon with your child when it's too hot or cold to go outside. Some of my choices in the article, Coloring Pages for Older Kids, also appeal to adults; particularly my favorite Masterpiece Coloring Book at The Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Botanical coloring is fun for adults too. Try the Celebrating Wildflowers Coloring Book from Plant Conservation Alliance and U.S. National Park Service. They have links to more botanical coloring pages.
Pure graphic coloring as in mosaics, tesselations, and quilts are fun and challenging. You can print and color this type of design at Totally Tesselated and The World Wide Quilt Coloring Book.
It's also easy to order advanced coloring books online. You won't find these in your local discount store, but an online vendor will send it right to you.
Of course, Dover Publications is a great place to start. I like the looks of Art Masterpieces to Color [], Color Your Own Abstract Art Masterpieces [], and Color Your Own Matisse Paintings []
You can also find the Mindware Coloring Books [] for challenging art and design coloring.
Finally, I enjoy the online paint-by-number game, SegPlay. Choose an easy or harder drawing to click and paint online.
