The idea needs first and foremost to be answering a question or supplying a need.
There are many questions out there that people are willing to pay money for to have answered.
To have problems solved.
So the first step in your creative thinking process is to think problems and streamlined quality solutions.
You need to do feasibility studies.
Here are the steps, you will need a jug full of coffee, a disruption free afternoon (take the phone off the hook) some quiet music in the back ground maybe.
You need a nice black marker and a large drawing pad.
Begin brain storming ideas.
Just think problems that large groups of people may have.
Typically the best ideas are generated by people in that group.
So your own problems, may be a good starting point.
What bugs you about things, and how could they be improved.
What solutions would you pay for.
Imagine perfect solutions.
Make sweeping ideas, just get them on paper.
Next, let them sink in over a week.
Then do a feasibility study on the first and best one.
You go out and actually talk to people you suspect may have the problem.
Just run the solution by them.
Get them to tell you what they think.
See at least 200 strangers and really be thorough.
Then come home and assess the answers they gave you to your questions.
If the picture looks favorable, you can begin the next step which is to seek venture capital based on the strength of your professionally presented feasibility study.
