Did you know that many of the most successful men of our times never completed the entire "get a good education," that leads to a good job process? Examples, neither Henry Ford nor the Wright Brothers ever even finished high school.
More recently, Bill Gates, Michael Dell, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and others all started in college but they all dropped out because they realized that they no longer wanted to prepare for a job, what they wanted was to create their own business, based on their own vision and thereby create their own wealth.
This does not necessarily mean that formal education is less important today, than it was in the past; what it really means it that there are sources of information and examples of success out there for people who want to take charge of their financial future and how to get it done.
These other sources and examples of successes of which I speak, are in and of themselves another form of education.
I am a firm believer that one can learn every day, in a variety of ways.
What I am suggesting here is that if you think that you want to take steps to ensure your own financial future, you don't have to reinvent the wheel, follow the blueprints that are already out there, learn what others before you have already done and follow their example.
Success does leave clues.
Taking charge of your financial life starts with a few things: 1.
The understanding that having a job will never make you financially secure, it will pay the bills, afford you the opportunity to save some money, but when the job stops so does your money making ability as you know it.
2.
A realization on your part of what you want out of life and a willingness to do what it takes to get it and maintain it.
3.
A realization that to have what you want out of life for your entire life will require you to make changes; most of us don't like change but if we are honest with ourselves we probably don't like the idea of not having financial freedom either.
4.
Courage to not only realize the points already addresses but to take action to go after the financial freedom that you want.
People do not change their lives simply by thinking about what they want out of life, they take the necessary steps (actions) to acquire it.
I write about the things that I do because I realized, after the fact that I wanted more out of life than what my formal education, a thirty year career, a pension, and a 401 type savings plan has afforded me.
As I said I realized this after the fact, after I had made my retirement plans and executed them, however, and this is big, my plans were not big enough; my vision was not nearly enough.
Today I have a new vision that has caused me to effectively take charge of my financial security.
I believe that there are other retirees who feel and are in the same situation that I was.
My belief is that they want to make a productive change but they do not possess the needed, information to make their dreams a reality.
I have and want to share with them what I have learned in order to manifest a dream into reality.
As important as it is to connect with other retirees, I realize that it is also crucial to get the message out to those who are still working their jobs.
There are so many individuals with good paying jobs, who still find necessary to "hustle" with a part-time job or jobs, just to make ends meet, or maintain a better lifestyle, than their primary job will afford them.
We all have options and we need to learn about them.
