How to Install a 32-Bit Printer Driver on a 64-Bit OS

    • 1). Locate your printer driver set-up file.

    • 2). Right click this file to produce a standard context menu.

    • 3). Left click the "Properties" heading on this context menu.

    • 4). Left click the "Compatibility" tab located at the top of the properties box that appears.

    • 5). Select the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box.

    • 6). Select "Windows XP service pack 3" from the pull-down menu just below the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" radio button.

    • 7). Click the "Apply" then "OK" button located in the lower right corner of the dialog box. This will close the dialog box.

    • 8). Launch the driver software and install as you normally would. Forcing the software into compatibility with Windows XP service pack 3 ensures that 32-bit code will be executed correctly as there was no service pack 3 for the 64-bit variant of Windows XP.
