Using Remote Assistance For Windows 7

Remote Assistance is one of the most important tools to help beginners out. With new users trying Windows 7 and old users upgrading to the new OS, there are bound to be things that can't be understood. Luckily there's Remote Assistance. Simply put, it's a simple program that allows someone else to take control of your computer. While they're taking control of your computer, you can see what your assister is doing so that you know how to do things yourself.

Microsoft knows how risky that is for you, so you need to deal with some security measures before you can turn over control of your desktop to someone else, but that doesn't mean that you don't have any level of control whenever you give someone remote access to your PC.

Even when you have already given someone control over your PC, you can still turn the control off at any time. What's more is that, Windows 7 has made giving access even easier for beginners with Easy Connect. So how do you use it?

Step 1: On the desktop, click the Start button and search for "troubleshooting" or "assistance" then click Enter. You'll see the Remote Assistance program if you typed in "assistance". If you typed in "troubleshooting" you should see the Control Panel. Click on "Get Help From a Friend".

Step 2: You will now see the Remote Assistance Menu.

Click on "Invite Someone to Help You" and then on the next group of options click on "Use Easy Connect". You will be given a password, so write that password down and then relay it to the person who will be assisting you, either through phone or through chat or whatever form of secure communication.

Step 3: The person assisting you should be able to connect with you using the password you gave him. Once he's connected, your session will begin. Either of you can initiate chatting so that you can have better communication. You may also change the share settings that you have so that you can control the amount of things your assister can see.

Step 4: Once everything that you want done has been done, you can end the session and have your desktop the way it was.

Remote Assistance helps in a lot of ways since you don't need to go out and look for someone to troubleshoot your PC problems.

You can ask someone you trust to do that work for you even if he's across the city or even across the ocean. Just make sure you trust the whoever is helping you out because it may come back to haunt you.
