How to Dry Out a Cell Phone Immersed in Water

    • 1). Spread out a towel on a flat, dry surface.

    • 2). Remove the back panel from your cellular phone.

    • 3). Remove the battery from your phone, once the back panel is removed.

    • 4). Lay the cell phone face down, on the towel, next to the back panel and battery.

    • 5). Hold the hairdryer approximately 4 inches from the cell phone and blow-dry the phone on the dryer's medium setting. If there is only a low and a high setting on the dryer, use the high setting, but keep the dryer about 6 inches from the phone. Dry the phone with the hairdryer for approximately five minutes.

    • 6). Allow the cell phone to sit, disassembled, on the towel overnight or for about eight hours.

    • 7). Reassemble the cellular phone and try to power it on. If it comes on, the phone is dry and functional, if it doesn't power on, the phone is damaged and must be replaced.
