Retirement: The Light At the End of the Tunnel

You have spent the better part of your life working and saving.
Whether you have worked in an office, a factory, driving, or going door to door selling vacuum cleaners, you have finally reached the end of that journey and it is time to retire.
Just because that long chapter of your life has come to a close does not mean that you are not without things to do.
Retirement is the beginning of a new adventure, and unfathomable opportunities that you didn't have a few years ago.
Retiring from a job does not mean that you have to stop working.
It means that you have stopped having to work for a living.
Now is the time to try something new that you might have only dreamed about.
That could be something as simple as finding a simple job to just pass the time or starting a small business of your own.
Some of the greatest business owners are the ones that have experienced every angle of a job, and now want to start their own business and teach the next generation to do it the way they've learned.
Perhaps you have a craft that you have always wanted to hone.
This could be something as simple as knitting or painting.
Take your time and start small.
Eventually, you will see improvement, and then expertise.
Whether your skill or talent be in painting, writing, or a more hands on skill like woodcarving, your retirement is going to be the ideal chance to change it from a passing dream into a real hobby you can share with your family.
In your years working, you probably missed out on some form of entertainment.
Whether you never really got a chance to sit and enjoy jazz, try a samurai film, or enjoy a suspense novel, there is plenty of time for you to not only try these things out, but sample all of them.
Pick a topic and begin studying it and learning about it.
The worst case scenario is that you learn something new, but in the end you might find out that you have a new love or passion for an art or style that you never really got a chance to enjoy.
No matter what you do now that you have retired, make sure you enjoy it.
There are plenty of people out there that, after retirement, think their lives are over.
It is the opposite that is true, this is a fantastic time for you to live in ways you always dreamed impossible.
Whatever it is you choose, make sure to bring a long a friend and share in the adventure.
